Does anyone speak truth anymore? - The Red and The Black by Stendhal

Based on the 200-year-old story, evaluate if it's possible to climb a career ladder by being integral to one’s values and avoid succumbing to societal hypocrisy.

The theme

How often do people say things that others want to hear? Is this the only way to build career and advance in the modern society? Reflect whether integrity can exist where most ambitious people are deceiving each other and how rare an individual opinion has become.
